How To Run a Tor Server: Donate bandwidth to the Tor Network

If you’re not familiar with the Tor network: it basically provides layers of encryption and anonymity that can help ensure your privacy. However, a common complaint is that the servers are slow. Therefore, if you can, follow these instructions (for Ubuntu) and donate some of your own bandwidth, or at least Digg this to help anonymity online. Donating some bandwidth would be great (maybe only at night?) I would do this provided I was running Ubuntu.

    Donating bandwith is always good, but also a big risk. Your connection can be abused.

    Yeah that would be one thing I’d be afraid of, the feds coming and knocking on my door one day because of TOR
