2008 Saturn Vue

While I was in Florida I spent the first few days at my Aunt’s house in Vero Beach so we had to get a rental car which we did through National. National has a very cool set up because they allow you to make a reservation for a car which is by default a Pontiac G6 which is also a nice car but if you join their Emerald Club you get to choose any car off of their Emerald Aisle. My family chose to rent two cars so my dad and I chose to snag the 2008 Saturn Vue mainly because of it’s size compared to my Aunt’s much smaller car (I can’t remember what it was).
Immediately I noticed the interior room in this car which was abundant even in the back seat. The next day when I went out with my cousins and my dad I sat in the front where I noticed the shear size of the glove compartment. You can just about fit a gallon of milk in there, it’s amazingly huge. Also on the passenger side I found a small little storage net on the left side next to the shifter there was also a nice storage bin under the seat. And as if that wasn’t enough there was plenty of leg room meaning that you could fit plenty of stuff at your feet.
The biggest complaint I do have about this car is that it is only a V4 which my dad complained about immediately because we’re all used to driving around our gas guzzling v6s. The engine compartment is very nice and compact but that also means that it’s not as easy to work on things yourself but you can certainly do it without too much of a problem.
Just some other quick stuff about the car.
- It had XM which was nice but I do still like Sirius better.
- OnStar was in the car but we didn’t use it so I still want to see how OnStar is.
- Car’s computer took over starting the car which was cool
- The A/C was great!
- Worth taking out for a test drive
- It’s a great looking car!
It’s Been Way too Long
Sorry it’s been such a long time since I’ve blogged but I’ve been on vacation in Florida for the past week. But I’ve got a ton of new stuff to talk about including but certainly not limited to
- Our rental car
- Our hotel
- How friendly Disney employees (cast members) are
- The amazing shows at Disney
- And the lack of some things I expected Disney to have
So stay ‘tuned’ as I’ll be posting these as soon as I can.
50 Worst Cars of All Time
Have you ever wondered what the worst cars that were ever created were, like how some of the terrible ideas such as the Ford Excursion came into existence. This article explains what the companies were thinking and why it’s terrible if you don’t agree with them which I don’t on everything. Although I do think the Hummer H2 was a bad idea apparently millions of people don’t and I’m sure that it’s earning GM untold amounts of money because in Connecticut I see those things everywhere so I can’t really blame GM for coming up with that idea. Anyways, check out Time’s complete list here. It’s absolutely worth taking a look at and some of the cars listed on there are just plain hilarious and worth the time you took to read about them.
Connecticut Passenger Restriction Laws
I am a 16 year old kid who has his license and drives quite often. I have held my license for nearly 5 months which allows me to drive immediate family members only. Now comes the part where I question the passenger restriction law, I realize that I am not able to drive anyone except immediate family members unless accompanied by and adult over the age of 20 that has held his/her license for 4 or more contiguous years. Although this law is very hard to follow I succeed in following it although it is one of the hardest things I have to do especially when you’re the last one leaving practice and there is still 1 person there who doesn’t have a ride, it’s so hard to drive by with an empty car and not offer them a ride home. This makes me question is it so unsafe to have just one passenger? Must the law eliminate ALL passengers? Why can’t it just limit the number of passengers for 4-6 months and yes I do believe it’s necessary to wait AT LEAST 4 months before drivers can drive passengers, it does take time to get used to driving. But why can’t the state allow you to phase in having passengers, maybe allow one passenger after 5 months, and maybe 2-3 after 6. Then after maybe 6.5 or 7 allow drivers to carry full carloads whatever that may be 5 or 7 people. I realize that this will probably never happen and yes I do agree with the law but I believe it should not be as strict but this post allowed me to get those thoughts out of my head and open to the world. Thanks for reading ~JAK
Inside the Aston Martin Factory
Ever wonder what the inside of an Aston Martin factory looked like? Well the folks at Drive Line have taken care of that for us.
I strongly recommend taking a look at their original post over at http://drive-line.com/08/18/aston-martin-factory/. As I do not want to take many of their pictures and post them here
