Dumbing us Down

Even though there’s some gross misspellings in the video the point still gets across, we (as high school students) aren’t learning everything we should. I can say this coming from a current high school junior’s point of view, the schools are teaching to the test, during sophomore year pretty much all we learned was how to take the upcoming CAPT test. Although now in junior year we don’t hear as much about the SATs as we should it’s a nice change, we’re actually learning…not stressing about the upcoming CAPT tests.

The Simpsons Movie

Posted in Life, fun, movies by jak on July 29th, 2007

Tonight I saw The Simpsons Movie, I thought it was great. I do agree with the critics when on Rotten Tomatoes when they say that the movie is a lot like a big long Simpsons episode. The animation in this is great, much better than the regular TV animation although that should be expected from an animated movie. Some of the jokes went right over half of the people in the theater’s heads except for a few, some of the more subtle jokes about government policy and the likes got very few laughs although the jokes are still very funny and most likely will be picked up by audiences as time goes on and it’s seen again. Most of the stuff that you can see online, such as spider pig (my favorite part) are in the very beginning but the laughs don’t stop there, they only get better. The spider pig video after the break. My review in short, see the movie, it’s worth the $9 ticket price. (more…)
