Apple Computers Lose ENERGY STAR Certification

On July 20th, energy star’s new specifications for computers went into effect. Apple currently does not have one computer that meets the new requirements. Wow too bad my favorite computer company lost their energy star rating. I hope that they will work quickly in the coming months to get that rating back. I’m Back

Well it’s been a while and I’ve learned how dumb I can be. A while ago before Firefox updated 2.0.0.5 I set my user agent to be googlebot just for fun but I’d forgotten I did that until I started having problems when I updated to Firefox 2.0.0.5. As you can tell from the post right before this I couldn’t figure out what was wrong until yesterday when I was looking at the about box in Firefox and noticed something odd, near the bottom I noticed that it said something about googlebot. Then it hit me I remembered that I’d set my user agent to googlebot and never changed it back. Once I reset that everything worked normally again. So I’m back and I have a lot of stuff to blog about, it’s just when I’ll find the time to post a week’s worth of information.

It’s Been a While

Sorry that it’s been so long since my last post. I’m apparently the lucky one that managed to get a bug with the newest release of Firefox. I haven’t had a text edit field available to me for the past few days since I updated Firefox so today I hope to have several posts in order to catch up. So just bear with me for a little while. If anyone has any ideas on how to fix this problem please post it on my the support forum post or simply leave it as a comment here.

JP Morgan Analyst Was Wrong

When I posted about a possible iPhone nano I was very excited to see what this would look like and bring to Apple but the firm was wrong stating that the launch was both unusual and highly risky. Oh well for the excitment of an iPhone nano, I guess these big financial firms can’t always be right.

Apple Plans iPhone Nano?

According to Reuters and a JP Morgan analyst Apple is planning a release of a smaller cheaper version of their popular iPhone.

Kevin Chang, a JP Morgan analyst based in Taiwan, cited people in the supply channel he did not name and an application with the U.S Patent and Trademark office for his report dated July 8.

The patent cited a circular touch pad control, so it sounds like it’s going to be along some of the original ideas of what people thought the iPhone would be like with the click wheel, except much smaller. I’m not sure how much I like this idea right now but I’m sure as details emerge about it I’m going to love it like I do most of Apple’s products.

Apple Gives Macbook Smasher A New Macbook

“Apple contacted me over the weekend and arranged for me to pick up a new macbook on Tuesday…” Well as I predicted Apple did try to make ammends with the crazy guy who smashed his macbook because they refused to fix it because of “spill damage” that he claims didn’t exist. Well either way he’s got a new macbook courtesy of Apple. Gotta love Apple’s corporate responsibility.

Vacation of Sorts

Well tomorrow is July 4th Independance Day so I’ll be busy at parties all day and most likely will not get any new posts up. Then on Thursday I’m getting all four of my wisdom teeth out so I’m not sure when I’ll be back to blogging after that but I will certainly have some new posts on Monday. See you then ~JAK

Ask.com’s New Look

Ask.com’s new look is absolutley stunning if you ask me. It’s the perfect web 2.0 look but Ask is allowing folks to skin their homepage, basically change the background but it still keeps the beautiful web 2.0 look. I wish google would do this, or I think I may have found a new default search engine, who knows. You can check out the new look simply by going to ask.com, or visiting “The Ask.com Blog” post about the new look by following this link.

Man Teaches Apple To Not Repair His Macbook By Smashing It With Sledgehamer Revisit

I decided for those of us that don’t have the energy to go to another site to watch the video of the crazy guy that smashes his Macbook instead of just paying for repairs. Unlike what I was expecting I’ve yet to hear any reaction from Apple about this guy and his denied warrenty claim. Although I promise I will have a post as soon as there is maybe a response from Apple corporate.

Great Firefox Theme

I’ve recently decided to change it up a bit on my computer and change my theme in Firefox which is a huge difference and it’s so much cleaner looking (at least I think) it goes with my mac and it’s native windows perfectly. It’s called Macfox II and can be found at the Firefox Add-Ons page where you can install it. But an extra thing I like about this theme is that you are able to customize it using some basic CSS design skills, instructions may be found at the developer’s page.

This now has put me into the mood of making a list and rant for each one of my Firefox extensions, maybe I’ll have that done for tomorrow ~JAK
